In this edition of Arts and Culture, we spotlight Nigerian visual artist Adebayo Ebenezar Seun, whose recent works were featured at the 50th anniversary of ECOWAS in Lagos.

Seun presented a powerful portrait of General Yakubu Gowon, Nigeria’s former Head of State and the only surviving founding father of ECOWAS.

He also unveiled a vibrant depiction of the ECOWAS flag, symbolizing unity and regional integration.

Dressed in traditional Yoruba attire, Seun honoured African heritage and underscored the significance of culture in shaping our collective identity. His contributions remind us of the enduring power of art in preserving history and celebrating unity.

WADR caught up with the talented Nigerian visual artist on the sidelines of the ECOWAS 50th anniversary.
