There is great concern following the kidnapping of former Bankass deputy, Idrissa Allaye Sankaré, by unidentified individuals on Thursday.

This kidnapping adds to the ongoing series of disappearances in the Country.

Idrissa Sankaré, a former executive of the Alliance for Solidarity in Mali, Convergence of Patriotic Forces, ASMA-CFP, is an influential figure in the Bankass region and has often been targeted in intercommunal conflicts.

As of now, there has been no word from his abductors or reaction from the authorities.
