Thousands have been left stranded in the upper west region of Ghana after rains swept away bridges linking communities and destroyed properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis.
While no casualties have been recorded so far, officers from the Ghana Red Cross Society dispatched to the scene have been unable to assist as flood waters have made it impossible to visit the worst affected areas.
