In Ghana, the Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta has appealed to Ghanaians to complement government’s effort to fix the country.

Recall that a few days after the announcement of increase in fuel prices with accompanied tax, Ghanaians took to twitter to express their displeasure against the hardship in the country with the hash tag #FIXTHECOUNTRYNOW.

The social media campaign was supposed to culminate in a demonstration on Sunday, however the Ghana police service secured an injunction preventing the March.

Thousands therefore converged on social media, posting pictures with captions showcasing poor roads, hospitals and placards on the need to Fix the country.

Responding to the online campaign, Ofori-Atta said the responsibility to make Ghana a better place should be a collective one.

Meanwhile, day one of the planned power outage started on Monday with thousands experiencing power outage for up to 12 hours. The 10 day outage will affect most parts of the capital.
