At the 65th ECOWAS Heads of Authority and Government, also gathered at the ECOWAS summit, to address the rising specter of insecurity, terrorism, extremism in the region.
The ECOWAS heads of state resolved to introduce a single currency by 2027, a monumental step towards regional integration and economic stability.
WADR’s Sankulleh Janko also reports that the leaders pledged to work closely to meet the ambitious timeline, a move that according to experts could mark a new chapter in ECOWAS’s journey towards greater economic unity and cooperation.
Meanwhile, President Tinubu of Niger’s mandate as the Chairman of ECOWAS has been extended.
