Observers from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) regional bloc who have been in Bamako for the past 4 days have left the country at the end of their mission. 

The delegation led by former Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan visited Mali to evaluate the transitional government's progress on the electoral calendar for the upcoming presidential elections

The delegation held discussions with Prime Minister Moctar Ouane, as well as Malick Diaw, the president of the National Transitional Council, political actors, civil society, unions and movements signatory to the Algiers Accord.
