The 92nd regional ministerial meeting of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is ongoing in Nigeria’a capital Abuja.
However, on day two of the summit, the President of the ECOWAS Commission Omar Touray informed delegates and representatives of authorities of member states of the bloc’s inability to establish a framework for negotiations with transition countries namely Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger.
These three coup states and members of the Alliance of Sahel States AES have not only announced but remain determined to quit ECOWAS despite frantic efforts to get them to reverse their decision.
