The West African delegation led by mediator Goodluck Jonathan, who arrived in Bamako on May 9, began its consultations with the stakeholders of the Transition on Monday.
Goodluck Jonathan, Nigeria’s former president, who is on his fourth visit to Bamako after the coup, was received by Prime Minister Moctar Ouane.
The Head of Government, during the meeting, took stock of the "considerable progress made since his last mission". These are the adoption of the government action plan, the publication of the electoral calendar, the establishment of the strategic orientation committee on political and institutional reforms.
The Prime Minister also informed the mediator of his mission in Mopti with the delocalized meeting of the Political Framework for the Management of the Crisis at the Centre.
Mr. Jonathan congratulated Ouane for the efforts made and invited him to continue this dynamic move by involving all the parties more in the discussions relating to the territorial reorganization, to the implementation of the Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation or even to the creation of a single election management body.
