Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo who doubles as the current chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) paid a one day working visit to Mali on Sunday.
The ECOWAS chairman visited the country to have first-hand information on the transition process.
Respect for the duration of the Transition has been at the heart of the in sub regional organization (ECOWAS’s) debate, since the events of 18 August 2021 and continues to lead reflections following the rectification of the Transition that took place on May 24th.
However, during meeting between President Addo and head of transition Assimi Goita, the interim Malian president said the transition is confronted with multiple and multifaceted issues than anticipated by the majority of national and international public opinion favorable to the extension of the transition.
