Guinea Bissau’s President Umaro Sissoco EMBALO, who doubles as the current ECOWAS President arrived in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso late Sunday morning.
He was welcomed at Ouagadougou International Airport by the Head of State, Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo DAMIBA.
Leading the ECOWAS delegation was the Burkina Faso Mediator Mahamadou ISSOUFOU and the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr Omar Alieu TOURAY.
The new ECOWAS President will hold a one-on-one meeting with Lieutenant-Colonel DAMIBA followed by a working session with the authorities of the Transition.
During its stay, the ECOWAS delegation will also have meetings with members of the Government, deputies, political and economic actors, customary and religious leaders, technical and financial partners, and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to the Burkina Faso.
