New research published Thursday in the journal Communications Earth and Environment, suggests that the world could experience extremely hot weather beginning in 2023.
The research by some major global climate analysts highlights the outsized contribution of emissions from the world’s major polluters.
It found that 92% of the 165 countries studied are expected to experience extremely hot annual temperatures.
According to Alexander Nauels co-author of the study, the findings show the urgency for interventions and how we are heading into a world that is just so much hotter for everyone.
The research also found that tropical Africa would be the worst hit by the effects of global climate change as the region should expect extremely hot years.
