Across Africa, violent events and other forms of criminal activities involving terrorist groups have led an upward trajectory in the last decade despite a drop in deaths.
The increase was over 22 per cent by 2022 according to the Africa Center for Strategic Studies.
Over the last twelve months, nearly 7000 thousand events linked to militant groups were recorded in the continent.
As James Adjapong reports, this represents a new record of extremist violence as well as a doubling of such occurrences since 2019.
