The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Belgium are joining forces with the Government of Mali to meet the growing needs of vulnerable communities affected by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The project entitled "Restoration of livelihoods of vulnerable households affected by Covid-19 in Timbuktu and Gao regions" will assist (6,600 people) in Timbuktu and Gao regions.
Thanks to Belgium for funding the program.
Since March 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic has affected Mali in a context already marked by a worsening security crisis and when the government had just declared a state of food and nutritional emergency in the country.
