ECOWAS Leaders at the end of an extraordinary summit on the political situation in Burkina Faso in Accra have decided to maintain the suspension of Mali and insisted on the release of president Roc Mark Kabore.
It follows an extraordinary session called in Accra on Thursday to address the concerns of growing insecurity within the sub region.
ECOWAS chairman, President Akufo-Addo at the opening session charged colleague heads of state to help restore sanity within the West African region.
Addressing the media after the closed-door session, commission chairperson, Jean-Claude Kassi Brou said the bloc has requested the coup makers in Burkina Faso to propose a timetable to return the country to constitutional rule.
