The deputy spokesperson of the Ivorian government, Mamadou Touré, announced on Wednesday the adoption, in the Council of Ministers, of an ordinance opening up to competition the universal postal service from March 8, 2025.

This ordinance fixes the date of the opening to competition of the universal postal service, seven years after the attribution of the first operating license of the universal postal service, according to Mr. Mamadou Touré, indicating that the competition will be "effective from of March 8, 2025 ".

This residual three-year monopoly, granted to the post of Côte d'Ivoire should allow this state company to partially finance the universal postal service and establish its financial balance, noted the deputy spokesperson of the Ivorian government.
