In Côte d’Ivoire, the opposition PPA-CI party, led by former President Laurent Gbagbo, has denounced what it calls intimidation and arbitrary arrests of its activists.
A party delegation was received on Wednesday by the Ministry of the Interior, weeks after dozens of supporters were detained. While no details of the talks were disclosed, both sides described the exchanges as frank.
The PPA-CI has repeatedly demanded the immediate release of its members, warning that such actions undermine political freedoms ahead of future elections.
