The congestion of communities in Freetown has been an obstacle in the way of putting out fires on residential properties.

Outbreaks in the city are recurrent, often resulting in widespread damage and loss of lives.

In the latest incident on Thursday, a home was burnt near the slum community of Kroo Bay in Freetown, resulting in the displacement of occupants of the house.

Journalist Eric Kawa, in Freetown, is speaking to WADR about the situation.
