Democracy- governance by the people to the people and for the people, has over time been questioned if truly it remains participatory and representational of the people’s will and wishes. How often do young people and women actively participate in various democratic processes?
In this debate edition of Citizens Hour, we throw the spotlight on why young people and women’s active participation in various democratic processes remain low.

In these two-sided debates, in the studios of our partner radio station Focus FM, in Kumasi, our guests called for capacity building, leadership training, education and children’s empowerment to enable women and young people take active roles in various democratic processes.

Our guests are Nana Efia Owusuwa Owusu, Emmanuel Agyapong and Karoula Issa Dobo.

DR. Nana Effua Akyea Kwakye, immediate past Gender commissioner for Graduate students of Ghana, GRASAC KNUST Chapter, Abena Achia, current Gender commissioner for Graduate students of Ghana, GRASAC KNUST Chapter, and Matilda Diploni Goka, second year political students.
