The Republic of Cameroon is seeking the support of the Accident Investigative Bureau of Nigeria (AIB-N) to help investigate the circumstances around an accident involving Havilland DHC 400 Twinotter aircraft which led to the death of 11 people on board.
Commissioner of AIB-N, Mr Akin Olateru, who revealed this to newsmen said Cameroon decided to seek assistance of AIB-N in terms of the investigation to help with the download of the Flight Data Recorder, FDR and Cockpit Voice Recorder, CVR analysis of information and animation of how it happened.
Olateru said the AIB-N had previously helped some African countries including Niger Republic, Gambia and Sierra Leone.
According to him, Nigeria is ready to establish Africa’s first Investigation training center before the end of 2022.
