Amnesty International, welcomes the news about the record speed in the investigation into the abduction and murder of Cameroonian Journalist Martinez Zogo.
The rights groups described the progress made as impressive but called for swift prosecution in this case and other previous cases.
Abducted in January, Zogo was discovered dead a week later on the outskirt of Yaounde – Cameroon’s capital.
Since then, media owner Jean-Pierre Amougou Belinga, Lieutenant-Colonel Justin Danwe, and Police Commissioner Maxime Eko Eko are being held in a maximum-security prison in pre-trial detention along with several policemen and civilians.
But over the weekend, a military court in Cameroon over the weekend charged Belinga and two others with complicity in the torture and killing of journalist Martinez Zogo.
