The President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, has decided to maintain his Captain's salary as an example of the sacrifice that is needed by all Burkinabes at this moment.
The Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, revealed this decision while updating the public after the weekly council meeting on Wednesday.
The Council adopted a decree on the remuneration of the Head of State, the Prime Minister, the Presidents of institutions and the members of the Government.
Even though the new decree entitles Captain Traoré to the salary of a Head of State, he has however chosen to maintain his salary as a soldier on the rank of a captain.
In the same vein, the Prime Minister and other Ministers also decided to devote 50% of their salaries for the month of November to the National Solidarity Fund for the benefit of people in difficulty, in particular internally displaced people.
