An Amnesty International report has revealed the deplorable security situation in Burkina Faso where some 46 communities are currently under blockade due to insurgents.

The report stated many of these locations have been besieged since July 2023.

The resulting consequences of the siege are the intimidation, harassment, killings, and widespread abduction of women and girls.
