The trial of the slain former Burkinabe President Thomas Sankara and his 12 companions which will be opened on October 11. 

The military prosecutor at the Ouagadougou Military Court announced the information late Tuesday. 

The trial will open almost 34 years to the day after the assassination of the leader of the Burkinabe revolution.
