A military tribunal has ruled against the Former president Blaise Compaore and nine others in the assassination of Thomas Sankara in 1987.

The court in Ouagadougou Tuesday ordered Compaore and the other defendants to pay the families of Sankara and his compatriots 800 million CFA francs or 1.2 million euros in damages.
