Residents of Djibo town in the Sahel region of Burkina Faso are calling for help after terrorists surrounded the community, restricting movement, food and fuel supply as well as other amenities. The town which has 200,000 inhabitants is located 215 km from the capital and is considered the epicenter of terrorism in Burkina Faso, has been under siege for a month.
A resident who spoke to WADR via phone and on condition of anonymity says they survive on the benevolence of humanitarian organizations which supply the populations as and when allowed.
