In Burkina Faso, the long-awaited trial of Francois Compaore may see the day’s light as the government assures of his safety upon extradition back to the country.

Recall that after January 24 coup in the country, the European Court of Human Rights demanded new guarantees to unblock the request by Faso to extradite Compaore.

The younger brother of former Burkinabe president, Blaise Compaore, is a primary suspect in the murder of a journalist, Norbert Zongo and his companions.

Abdullahi Hassan has more in this report filed in WADR’s French Service Ouagadougou Correspondent – Martin Kaba.
