In Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso’s police have intensified efforts to crack down on terrorism and organized crime through a special road traffic operation.
The nationwide sweep, which ran from March 25 to April 17, targeted crime hotspots and resulted in over 21,000 individuals being checked and 120 arrests made.
Security officials say the joint operation aimed to deter criminal networks and identify potential terrorist threats in urban areas.
As insecurity persists in parts of the country, the police say such initiatives are vital to safeguarding public safety.
