The Burkinabe army has successfully destroyed a major terrorist base in Nassougou, Burkina Faso. The operation, conducted from August 13 to 16, 2024, resulted in the neutralization of several terrorists and the seizure of significant equipment.
Security sources report that the terrorists were using tents with solar installations. The army says its vigilance allowed them to target and eliminate these threats, with about twenty terrorists neutralized in the operation.
Intelligence and observations helped the army identify the terrorists in the southern part of Nassougou. The air force also played a crucial role in the operation. Efforts are ongoing to restore peace in the region.
President Ibrahim Traoré has, in the meantime, implemented numerous measures over the years to strengthen the army’s fight against terrorism.
