The Transitional Legislative Assembly of Burkina Faso has permitted the government of the country to rule by ordinances.

The new law which was adopted on Monday seeks to empower the government to take decisions related to national defense and security.

Out of the 65 lawmakers that participated in the vote, only one voted against the law.
