In a bold move to counter extremist ideologies, Burkina Faso’s Federation of Islamic Associations (FAIB) has introduced a new strategy to dismantle the narratives of armed groups.

On Wednesday, FAIB submitted a document titled Alternative Discourse to national religious authorities. The document presents a faith-based roadmap grounded in authentic Islamic teachings.

The goal is to reclaim religious messaging and offer communities a peaceful, truthful interpretation of Islam that rejects violence and extremism.

This initiative marks a significant step in engaging religious institutions in the fight against radicalization and promoting national stability.
