Authorities in Burkina Faso have debunked social media rumours that it has closed its land borders to Mali.
A government statement released on Tuesday, 2nd August, 2022 said the government is taking note of the creators and purveyors of false news as it warned that it reserved the right to bring the full weight of the law to deter a recurrence.
The statement further stated that government invites the public and more particularly the users of social networks not to relay false information as the law of the land on such matters is very clear to everyone the statement added.
