Benin’s National Autonomous Electoral Commission (CENA) has officially released the timelines for the country’s 2026 general elections.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by CENA President Sacca Lafia during a ceremony in Cotonou. The event was attended by representatives from political parties, government institutions, ministries, media outlets, and civil society groups.
The release of the election calendar marks a key step toward preparing for a smooth and transparent electoral process.
Authorities say the double timetable aims to give stakeholders ample time to plan and ensure full participation in the democratic process.
