Opposition parties in Benin have strongly condemned a recent attack that claimed the lives of nearly ten soldiers in the country’s north.

The assailants, yet to be identified, targeted security forces in a region increasingly threatened by extremist violence.

In their statement, opposition leaders urged President Patrice Talon to intensify regional cooperation to tackle growing terrorism.

The incident has renewed calls for a united national and cross-border front against armed groups.
