As World Radio Day approaches, experts are emphasizing the power of radio in climate action, especially in reaching remote communities. With its unmatched accessibility, radio bridges digital divides and engages diverse audiences in critical environmental discussions.

To harness this potential, the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) are hosting the 2nd AUB Media Summit on Climate Action. The event will focus on how radio can drive awareness, preparedness, and resilience against climate change.

Scheduled for February 13th and 14th in Dakar, Senegal, the summit will bring together media professionals, policymakers, and climate experts. Discussions will explore strategies to amplify climate information and mobilize communities through radio.

Under the theme “Reaching the Last Mile: Radio for Climate Action,” the summit aims to strengthen radio’s role as a lifeline in the global fight against climate change.
