Our African Hero is Nigeria’s late Nnamdi Azikiwe.
He was a nationalist, journalist, and politician who bravely fought for Nigeria’s independence.
After the country became a federal republic in 1963, Azikiwe became the first democratically elected president, writing his name in history books.
His presidency was characterized by tremendous gains in the health and education sectors, but it sadly ended following a military coup in 1966.
To know more about him.
Abdullahi Hassan profiles him.
