West Africa is facing a changing pattern of terrorism alongside worsening insecurity across the region.

Unlike previous waves driven largely by external actors, the current trend involves the recruitment of citizens from affected countries.

These challenges were the focus of a regional security seminar held on Wednesday in Dakar, organised by the Timbuktu Institute – African Centre for Peace Studies.
