The 6th edition of the Open Sahel Festival begin over the weekend in Mboumba, Northern region of Senegal which borders Mauritania.

The Festival is a partneship of the initiative " Voix du Fleuve, (Voice of the river) Voie de la Paix of Peace", (Path of peace) as a preamble to the World Water Forum to be held in Dakar in March, and in partnership 

The 3 days event began with the annual musical concert, and saw several panel sessions deliberating on one objective, to launch a dialogue between the institutions involved in the development of the Senegal River basin.

The event which started with an open air concert, which top local Senegalese hip hop stars and foreign artistes like Mauritania's Daby Toure.

The event continues today with an art exhibition.
