#InternationalWomensDay: UN calls for support for women driven initiatives amid COVID

As the World Today, on March 8, commemorate the International Women’s Day, the United Nations is calling on governments to support women driven initiatives amid the covid19 pandemic.

According to the global organization, Women of the world want and deserve an equal future free from stigma, stereotypes and violence. 

The 2021 event tagged: Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world,’ celebrates the efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the global pandemic.

The UN Secretary General – Antonio Guetteres said Women’s full and effective participation and leadership in of all areas of life drives progress for everyone.
