Government officials, local and international activists participate on this Friday in a one-day conference for truth and justice for past crimes in the country.
The conference is organized by Liberia’s Global Justice and Research Project, in collaboration with eight other local and international human rights organizations.
The speakers at the Monrovia conference will include Stephen J. Rapp, the US ambassador-at-large for war crimes from 2009 to 2015 and a former chief prosecutor at the Special Court for Sierra Leone.
The conference is taking place amid growing momentum for a war crimes court in Liberia.
The Executive Director of the Civil Society Human Rights Advocacy Platform of Liberia, Adama Dempster, spoke to Adolphus Mawolo.
