Mauritania: President Aziz says ‘wouldn’t alter constitution to run for a third term in office’.

    Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz on Thursday dismissed accusations of seeking to amend the country’s constitution to allow him to run for a third term in office.
    President Ould Abdel Aziz told reporters in the capital Nouakchott, that he will not change the constitution to allow a third term.
    The statement by the Mauritanian leader comes days after the main opposition accused him of trying to prolong his stay in power by altering the constitution.
