Street protests and social media campaign have been gaining momentum in Nigeria against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (Sars).
Protesters accused the squad of human rights violations including extrajudicial killings and corruption.
Lawmakers in the Senate, the upper house of parliament, last Tuesday voted to open an investigation into the allegations.
The campaign, Hashtag-EndSars which has been trending on Twitter, on Monday forced the police chief to announce an immediate re-organisation of Sars nationwide and an investigation into abuse allegations.
At a protest in Lagos last night, a lead protester spoke to the media about their demands.
