The UN statement is seen as a boost by the lawyers of General Bassole who are now exploiting it to ask for the release of their client.

The lawyers scored a major victory after the UN working group said the detention of the former Minister is arbitrary and illegal.Djibrill Bassolé is suspected of coordinating the 2015 short lived coup d’état which destabilized the country.
