The National biometric registration exercise started Monday, ahead of general elections scheduled to take place next year.
According to the Electoral Commission the exercise will continue till 16th April 2017.
The registration of voters is part of a larger national registration, including non-citizens. But the first half of the exercise will be strictly for citizens eligible to vote, the statement said.
Sierra Leone goes to the polls on March 18, 2017.
