The move in the Liberian legislature to slash the salaries and benefits of lawmakers by some MPs is to reduce the rate of absenteeism in the House.

It has been sparked by the absence of a large number of lawmakers from the parliament in recent weeks.
One of the MPs championing this move is Muna Pelham-Youngblood of the opposition bench. She tells WADR’s Benjamin why she backs the move.
