    Agnes is currently the Head of Information responsible for news, Current Affairs and Programmes. Previously offered consultancy services for the UNESCO Africa Regional Office in Dakar, Senegal and other institutions Worked at Radio Gambia, The Gambia Family Planning Association (GFPA) as IEC Officer, Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) as Training Officer and was responsible for advocacy and outreach at GICAP a capacity building project for civil society at the Gambia’s Ministry of Trade. Over 20 years of experience as a communications and media expert with experience and training in radio, newspaper, photo journalism, video production, advocacy and scripting, and the development of Information, Education and Communication materials. Trained in institutions such as Radio Deutsche Welles in Germany, the International Institute for Journalism in Berlin, the AACC Communication training centre in Nairobi, Kenya, the Leeds Metropolitan University in England and the Atlantic International University, USA

    Biography

    Demba Coundoul is a finance specialist. He has a Master’s degree in Banking Econometrics and Quantitative Finance Research from the Quantitative Techniques Department from the Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD) He previously worked as the Admin and finance Director of Intervida / EDUCO Foundation from October 2007 to March 2015. He was the Director of the Diourbel Base of the French Red Cross from May 2015 to July 2015. Mr. Demba Coundoul is presently working with WADR as the Head of Admin and Finance

    Biography

    Mame Lika sidibé joined WADR in 2009. She is Currently a Senior Producer and Head of the French desk. Lika previously worked with the groupe avenir communication as a journalist reporter. She also worked as an editor and director of the Radio Première FM From 1st February 2007 to March 18, 2008. Mame Lika had experiences working with the group Sud Communication from 1999 to December 16, 2006 as an intern, freelancer, and journalist reporter and progressed to be head of a department. Lika Sidibé also worked as a consultant at the Centre for Ecological Monitoring. Documentation Service and archiving of satellite data and communication training are all part of her previous experiences. She is a graduate of the 29th Promotion of CESTI (The journalism school of the Cheikh Anta Diop University) and EBAD

    Biography

    Sheriff Bojang Jnr is currently a Senior Producer and Head of the WADR English Service. He is an award-winning multimedia journalist with over 15 years of experience, a career that kicked off in his native Gambia where he worked for the biggest newspaper, Daily Observer, as a rookie reporter and rose through the ranks to become Head of Political Desk and National Assembly correspondent. Sheriff was a finalist for the 2015 CNN African Journalist of the Year Award and he was nominated for his coverage of Sierra Leone’s Ebola outbreak. He won two prizes in the 2011 Radio for Peacebuilding Africa Award in Kigali, Rwanda. The prize was set up by Washington-based Search for Common Grounds to celebrate excellence in African journalism and story-telling. He won for his documentaries on Rape and Gender-based Violence in Senegal and Female Genital Mutilation in West Africa. He won both prizes for West Africa Democracy Radio during his first stint with the radio, between 2009 and 2011. Sheriff was also a finalist for the 2012 FitzGerald Prize for Young African Journalists set up by Reuters. He was nominated for his powerful story-telling ability. Alongside his role at WADR, he also serves as correspondent for several international media outlets, including the English services of Radio France International and Radio Netherlands Worldwide, the Guardian newspaper in the UK and New African magazine in London. He's a freelance communications consultant for UN Women and over the past five years, he has worked for the UN agency in Senegal, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya. Sheriff is also an independent researcher on West Africa and his clients include the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP), Cross-Border Information, Hyderus and Sunday Times newspaper in the UK. Sheriff is passionate about human interest stories (from small towns and villages across West Africa) and English Premier League football club, Arsenal.

    Biography

    Karamoko Thioune is a Journalist/Producer with WADR’s French desk. Karamoko Thioune has a master’s degree in American literature from the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar and a master’s degree in Marketing and communication. He is specialized in security affairs and has over the past ten years worked on several issues of human interest (politics, sports, culture, peace and security) in Africa in general and in West Africa in particular. Through his productions he gives the opportunity to political, cultural sports, peace and security actors to deal with issues related to fair play, tolerance and civism which are paramount for communities that want to progress.

    Awa Diédhiou is a journalist/Producer who joined the WADR French desk in 2009. Previously, she worked for a community radio and an online press in Dakar. In addition to his journalist certificate, she holds a Master 2 in Gender and Peace building and an MA in English obtained at the Dakar Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD) in Senegal.

    Rudolph Karl is presently a journalist/producer with WADR’s French desk. He joined the team in April 2014. Previously, he worked as a journalist for African Television News (ATN) in Dakar. He holds a Diploma in Specialized Journalism and Communication obtained in 2007 (CESTI), at the Dakar Cheikh Anta Diop University (UCAD). Rudolph was trained as a television journalist, he worked in several press organs in Senegal and his home town Benin.

    Biography

    Adolphus Mawolo is a producer at WADR’s English-Desk. Prior to his appointment with WADR, Adolphus worked in his native Liberia in mainstream journalism and public relations for several years with the Liberia Women Democracy Radio, Radio France International English-Service, Agence France Press and the international medical charity Medicins Sans Frontieres as its National Media and Communications Officer during the 2014/2015 Ebola crisis in Liberia. Adolphus is the recipient of the 2012/2013 Press Union of Liberia Health Reporter of the Year Award for his groundbreaking report on people with mental illnesses in Liberia. He holds a BA degree in Political Science from the African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) in Monrovia.

    Biography

    Alpha Kamara is currently a Producer with WADR‘s English desk, a co-host of Daybreak West Africa and Producer of Enviroscope, the station’s environment programme. Prior to WADR, Alpha worked with the BBC World Service and BBC Media Action as a producer, radio station mentor and trainer where he helped build the editorial policies, news gathering and audio editing skills of several community radio journalists in Sierra Leone for over 5 years. He also worked with Oxfam International during the West African Ebola response in 2013/2014 as Media and Communications Officer and led the communications unit of the organization in Sierra Leone. Alpha has over 12 years experience as a broadcast journalist and Communications professional. He studied Communications and Journalism at Northern University formerly called Northern Polytechnic and the University of Makeni in Sierra Leone.

    Biography

    Benjamin Tetteh is a Ghanaian broadcast journalist currently working as a producer with WADR’s English Desk. Benjamin worked with the Multimedia Group (Joy FM), Ghana’s biggest private media. He also worked with Radio Ada, a Community Radio station in the country, where he rose to News Editor and host of the station’s Breakfast Show. He specialises in Radio documentaries and features, especially on the Extractive sector. He graduated from the University of Ghana with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Sociology, and Diplomas in Journalism from the Danish School of Journalism, Arhus, Denmark and Business Studies from the University of Professional Studies, Accra. He specialises in Radio documentaries and features, especially on the Extractive sector. Benjamin is a member of the Forum for African Investigative Reporters (FAIR) and currently serves on the Board of the Johannesburg-based group. He has been involved in some major Trans-national investigations covering areas of Fair Trade in the Cocoa sector and China in Africa. In 2013 he was finalist in the African Story Challenge, where he produced a special documentary on building Africa’s first SUVs.

    Ms Celia Thompson is a Media practitioner currently working as a volunteer with WADR. She co-hosts the radio’s ‘Day Break West Africa’ breakfast show and produces programmes on special events. As a Former UN Peacekeeper, Celia worked for two UN Radios (UNIOSIL &UNMISS) in Sierra Leone, Sudan and South Sudan; respectively, between 2003 and 2014. Ms Thompson is experienced in planning events and also has special skills and experience in working with children in conflict and post-conflict environments. Ms Thompson is a Writer of poems and short stories and a member of the Sierra Leone Writers Series. She is also a Rotarian.

    Mrs. Ndeye Fatou Ndiaye is specialized in finance and accounting. She holds a master’s degree in quantitative management techniques from Institut Supérieure de Management ISM (Dakar) Prior to her appointment with WADR, Mrs. Dieng Ndiaye completed a month’s internship at CBAO bank. She also worked as an intern with Credit du Senegal Bank for a period of 9 months were her tasks included supporting the development and Management of customers’ portfolio and businesses . Ms. Dieng Ndeye Fatou Ndiaye was appointed in 2009 as an Administrative and Finance Assistant at WADR.
