Health authorities in Sierra Leone have confirmed the outbreak of the highly contagious and infectious viral, Foot and Mouth disease in the east and north. The disease for now is confined in animals.
The authorities suspect that the outbreak in Kono, Kambia and Tonkolili must have spilled over from neighboring Guinea.
They have responded by banning the entry of animals from Guinea and Liberia.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Herald Thomas, told WADR's Adolphus Mawolo more about the outbreak on the line from Freetown.
