Israel threatens to jail illegal migrants for life from April 2018

    Israel said it would pay thousands of African migrants living illegally in the country to leave, threatening them with jail if they are caught after the end of March.
    According to a report in the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the government is looking into forced expulsion as cabinet met to approve a plan to offer 40,000 people the choice of being deported with a cash payment or being incarcerated indefinitely.
