'Journalists must uphold integrity'--Reuters consultant
May 13, 2011A consultant with the Reuters Foundation has said it is the responsibility of journalists to preserve their integrity as they carry out their functions.
Mr John Chiahemen was speaking at a financial and economic training workshop for journalists in Nigeria organized by the Reuters Foundation in collaboration with the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation.
According to him, skills in newsrooms had not kept pace with the explosion of news outlets across Nigeria.
Chiahemen, who spent three decades with Reuters, has worked in Africa, Europe and Asia.
WADR’s Abuja Correspondent Chima Nwankwo asked him what the thrust of the training workshop.
