ICRC on grim humanitarian crisis in Libya
The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has telling WADR the scale of the humanitarian crisis facing Libya, as a ship chartered by the charity has arrived in the rebel-controlled Libyan city of Misrata to help victims of the ongoing crisis that has crippled Libya.
After the suspension of its services in parts of Libya for ethical reasons, the ICRC recently returned to Misrata and Benghazi, the headquarters of the rebels fighting to Colonel Muammar Gaddhafi’s regime to cater for the humanitarian needs of the victims.
Dibeh Fakr is the ICRC Spokesperson in Benghazi. On the phone line from the rebel held city, she told WADR’s Sheriff Bojang, Jr. what the humanitarian ship contains.
