Riot victims in Nigeria demand compensation
Victims of the recent post election violence that rocked Nigeria’s Kano and other northern cities have cried out to President Goodluck Jonathan to speed up the compensation he promised in his nationwide broadcast shortly after the riot.
The victims, including representatives of about 30 Christian churches affected by the post election violence, also urged the Nigerian government to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Their Spokesman, Rev. Bestman Ogwuche who is also head of the Victory Chapel in Kano, said several homes have been destroyed and over 30 churches across the city have been burnt down.
WADR’s Special Correspondent Enenche Akogwu reports.
